Going against the stream with a visual identity for top-tier aquaculture consulting.

INAQ delivers high-end consulting services across the seafood industry, backed by unmatched experience and expertise. When they approached us, they wanted a new and modern visual identity to better reflect this.

INAQ’s original identity had its limitations. The bottom image series shows issues with logo legibility.

Through research — including a three-hour workshop at INAQ’s offices — we explored aquaculture, competitors, and INAQ’s core identity. With the team split on how bold the rebrand should be, we developed two approaches — one that built on their existing look, and one that set a new course. After discussions and reflection, they chose the latter.

In aquaculture, it’s all to common to see navy blues, bold neo-grotesques, photography of dark stormy seas, and the occasional orange accent. Being aware of these tropes, and actively breaking away from them became the foundation for crafting something unmistakably “INAQ”.

Enter a light and optimistic look — with soft gradients, pastels, and imagery of tranquil mornings — embodying the calm and confidence INAQ brings with their expertise and structured approach.

The distinct V-pattern found in salmon muscles is an evolutionary adaptation that enhances the fish's swimming efficiency.

This served as the primary inspiration for the logo symbol, reflecting INAQ's expertise and history of growth and change. With further inspirations from runes highlighting INAQ’s Norwegian roots, appealing to global markets.

The typography and layout takes cues from both the world of luxury and editorial design — positioning INAQ at the industry’s top-tier, while conveying a sense of credibility and trustworthiness.
